SAKAN LodgePrivacy Policy
SAKAN Lodge operates shared accommodation in South Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information through our accommodation management website and internal administration application.
Information we collect
We may hold resident names, contact details, room and property assignments, tenancy dates, rent and bond records, payment information, maintenance requests, and related correspondence. We collect information provided by residents or recorded by authorised property managers for accommodation administration.
How we use information
We use information to manage accommodation, maintain financial records, respond to enquiries, and send relevant property or tenancy notices. The internal management application is intended for authorised SAKAN Lodge administrators, not resident logins.
Email communications and Google permissions
When configured, authorised administrators may use a shared SAKAN Lodge Gmail account to send messages to selected residents. The Google Gmail send permission is used to send authorised messages only; it does not grant the application permission to read, modify, or delete mailbox messages. We do not sell tenant email addresses. Bulk messages should use blind carbon copy (BCC) to avoid revealing recipient addresses to other residents.
Storage and service providers
Our application uses hosting, authentication, and database services, which may include Cloudflare, Supabase, and Google. Data may be processed or stored in locations used by those providers, subject to their configurations and safeguards. Access should be limited to authorised administrators and service providers as necessary.
Security and retention
We apply access controls and take reasonable steps to protect information. We retain records while needed for tenancy administration, legal obligations, and dispute resolution, and then delete or de-identify them when appropriate. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Access, corrections and enquiries
Residents may contact us to ask about their information, request corrections, or raise a privacy concern. We will assess requests in light of applicable Australian law and recordkeeping obligations.
